American Law and Order — Who is it for?

Did Breonna Taylor live in Law and Order America?

The police killed an innocent woman.

They couldn’t even throw us a bone.

They chose more unrest, more protests, more looting, rather than make even a symbolic gesture of; we made a mistake, we are sorry for taking the life of an innocent woman.

A good lawyer.

A better lawyer.

A better argument.

The police killed an innocent woman.

Circumstantial evidence.

Fake evidence (the police supposedly tried to get Breonna Taylor’s ex-boyfriend to lie that, Breonna was dealing drugs.)

Too many guns!!!

The police killed an innocent woman.

Death for black people.

Tired. Stressed. Hurt.

I understand, that, by definition of murder in Kentucky. This was not murder. I understand, that, the police responded to a gunshot in self-defense. But, the law doesn’t govern 230 million lawyers it governs regular people.

If the people are no longer protected by the law or feel protected by the law then what is the point of the law?

The police should have addressed the people with humility, with compassion, with understanding. This wasn’t some emergent situation where police swooped in to save the day and someone died in the process. This was a botched midnight raid. Breonna Taylor was a law-abiding citizen, she was in her house, sleeping. There were no drugs in her house. The gun her boyfriend had was legally owned. Mistakes and questionable choices were made that night. A woman died in error and no one is being held accountable for her errant death. Breonna Taylor should not have died that night.

A botched midnight raid.

No laws broken they said.

Why did you shoot the walls they asked?

The law says the death of this woman just a mistake.

The law says we should shut up about it.

What a cruel judicial system.

“It serves her right, why did her boyfriend shoot at the police. If only her boyfriend had not shot at the police. Why was her ex boyfriend a drug dealer? If you date drug dealers you deserve to be shot by the police.”

What a cruel society.
